Awesome Sh!t To Check-Out: Novel Edition
THE AGE OF ZEUS, is a must have, if you don't read start. This one is a pretty long read but well worth it, i enjoyed it the whole way through. Its got the monsters of Greek mythology, armored suits, and battles with Greek gods. What could possibly be better, do yourself a favor and give it a shot.
THE AGE OF ODIN, not quite as long as Zeus's story, but equally as good. It explores Norse mythology in modern terms, Valkyries with sub machine guns and such. Well worth the time it takes to get through it.
Last but certainly not least PREDATOR SOUTH CHINA SEA. If your a fan of the PREDATOR franchise you'll defiantly like this one. If you're not on the PREDATOR bandwagon you may still enjoy it. Its got everything a good story needs to keep people interested, a struggle for survival, plenty of machine-guns, and to top it off crazy ass pirates, whats not to like.

Character Bio! Solomon Grundy
First off a little DC history for you. Some time in the 19th century, a man named Cyrus Gold was killed and left in Slaughter Swamp (somewhere close to Gotham). Half a century later his body returned to life, kinda. Cyrus Gold returned as a zombie.
Shortly after, there happened to be two criminals who took to Slaughter Swamp as there hideout (big mistake). Awakened after fifty some years in a swamp, Grundy was a little pissed off, found the intruders to his beautiful swamp and quickly put them out of there misery.
He then left the swamp. Some hobo had the balls to ask what his name was, he answered he was "born on a Monday". Another random hobo mentioned the nursery rhyme "Solomon Grundy" were Grundy was born on a Monday. From then on Cyrus Gold became Solomon Grundy.
So why is this seemingly useless villain getting his own bio? you ask. Well ill fill you in, all though depending on who is writing the story, Grundy has super human strength (at one time on par with Superman).
He is a zombie, so killing him is out of the question, damage and pain doesn't seem to bother him. In rare cases were he has seemingly died, his body is somehow returned to Slaughter Swamp and he is born again.
All though he doesn't seem to eat human flesh, Grundy is probable the most bad-ass zombie ever. He has beat and been beaten by the original Green Lantern, Superman and a whole roster of other super-heroes, and still live to tell the tale.

Character Bio! Doomsday
First off I will give you a little background about a place called Krypton. 250,000 years ago it was a place of searing heat, deadly creatures bound together in a dog eat dog, only the strong survived.
Enter Doomsday!!
He is the aftermath of an infant, who was brought to pre-historic Krypton, (as we learned were only the strong shall survive) by some scientist in order to create the ultimate living being, read: bad ass mofo.
Shortly after being stranded on lovely Krypton, the infant was brutally killed. His remains were gathered up and cloned by the scientist, and returned to the planets surface only to suffer a similar fate. The scientist was kind enough to gather the remains up again and repeat the process a couple thousand more times.
After the good doctor repeated his cloning process enough times the infant grew and evolved over time, the more he was killed the more he evolved and became more resistant to whatever killed him.
He eventually became resistant to the extreme climate of Krypton, and his anatomy changed to thrive on solar energy, with no need for food or water. Subsequently he gained the ability to die and return to life without the need of the good doctor cloning him. Each time evolving and adapting only to clime his way to the top of the food chain.
Pretty bad-ass except wite one little detail. All this dying and coming back to life only to be killed again, made poor ole Doomsday hate all living beings expectantly the good people of Krypton (aka that's why he hates Superman so much).
After becoming the apex predator of Krypton, Doomsday then killed the scientist, even after all of his hospitality, Then he decided that it may be fun to rampage through the galaxy destroying worlds and slaughtering millions only to come face to face with Darksied.
During his fight with Darksied he took the omega beams full blast (oh no) to bad that didn't do a damn thing. With that Doomsday proceeded to kick the shit out of the god Darksied, sending him running with his metaphorical tail between his legs.
He then continued his rampage until he was somehow killed again, and locked into a burial chamber and jettisoned into space, and eventually landed on our little planet earth. He crashed into our planet and was burred under tons of rocks. With no sunlight to feed him, he stayed comatose for quiet awhile.
He later woke up, fought the JLA, and won and then killed Superman. THE END. Kinda.
We started the review section of DC comics, with Catwoman vol. 1 The Game. So were going to continue this ride with reviews of vol.1 and vol.2 of titles I think are worth following. Like this one
Catwoman vol. 2 Dollhouse
In part one we found a broken adrenaline junkie recklessly falling in to bad situations with worse people. In vol.2 she meet a new fence, befriend a thief and relies the error of her ways, kinda. without giving the whole story away, someone in Gotham is kidnapping prostitutes, junkies, and street kids. This doesn't sit well with Selena, she explains why.
Overall this book was well worth the money it kept me interested the whole way it ties into the Batman story arc pretty well, minor details not withstanding, ie time of day or weather. The villain was done very well, instead of a ridiculous bad guy obsessed with coins, clowns, or ice guns, we find a terrifying, in your face this could actually happen type of villain. I cant say enough good things about the New 52 Catwoman, its a must have.

New 52 Catwoman: Volume 1 "The Game" Review
Prior to the New 52, I didn’t really think much of this character. In a world of Superman, Captain Marvel, and Doomsdays most people wouldn’t think twice about some chick dressed up as a cat. Before the reboot I knew the character as a jewel thief and a possible love interest of the Batman. Beyond that I never really cared to know more about her. Then came the New 52.
I was sketchy about buying the first book, but in the end I did. I fully expected to be disappointed with half hearted characters, predictable boring ass plots about some hidden jewels that no one cares about. I gave it a shot anyway and within about two pages I realized how wrong I was about this particular b-list thief.
Judd Winick tells a compelling story, the character designs are original, the art is very well suited to the story. Most importantly I actually cared about the characters. If you haven’t read it yet it’s a must have.
The story starts off with Selina Kyle rushing to get dressed and grab her belongings as a group of thugs break in and shoot the place up. She escapes and the thugs set off a bomb in her apartment. Next up we meet her fence Lola. Lola offers her a place to stay but Selina declines, instead decides to crash at a penthouse while the owner is away. Lola then hooks selina up with a job, ripping off the Russian mob.
She sneaks into the Russian party as a bartender and eardrops in on the mobs conversation. However to her surprise a guy named Renald is attending the party. Some flashbacks take place and we figure out that Renald is not a nice guy, and Selina decides to right some past wrongs by removing Renold’s eye.
Flash forward a bit and we find out that Batman and Catwoman have an ongoing late night relationship. However that’s about as deep as it goes(no pun intended), Selina doesn’t know Batman’s identity, and doesn’t really care to find out.
After there little late night adventure, Selina finds herself at Wayne manor setting up two sides of the Russian mob. Some confrontation happens and she makes out with both sides cash and saves seemingly defenseless Bruce Wayne from getting shot up.
After making a clean escape from the mob, Selina travels to Lola’s place only to find her fence beat to death, and to add insult to injury, shot in the head.
Selina finally realizes how her actions are finally catching up to her, and knows she needs to change her ways, but first takes her revenge on Lola’s assailants.
And this story’s just getting started. I’m not going to ruin the whole story for you, so defiantly give it a read. It changed my whole perspective on Selina Kyle and her misadventures. Catwoman is defiantly a series to keep up with. I give it a 10/10.
